Thai Nguyen graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in 2002. Following graduation, he earned the title of associate designer for BCBG Max Azria, which he held through 2004. Since then he has become the designer of choice for prominent Vietnamese entertainment production companies such as Thuy Nga (Paris by Night), Asia Entertainment, and Van Son Entertainment. In 2008, he and his partner, Helen Nguyen, opened the showroom and storefront Thai Nguyen Couture in Huntington Beach, California. Known for his convertible evening gown creations on the show, Thai was also a finalist on Bravos Launch My Line and a fashion designer/contributor on RuPauls Drag Race season 2. Upon launching his own label, Thai Nguyen, has shown during L.A.F.W and has been picked up in many boutiques across America. He specializes in custom bridal couture, and ready-to-wear silk dresses all produced in the U.S.
